I find it satisfying to take a flat piece of metal and form it into something people can wear and enjoy. Although often sculptural, my work functions primarily as body adornment and appeals to the public. I am inspired by nature, and in particular the textures and colors of marine life. I attempt to recreate the ruggedness and imperfections found in the natural world. Fabrication techniques, casting and electro-forming allow me to create tactile surfaces on three dimensional forms. By sifting, drawing and painting with enamel, color and detail are added to the forms. I hope the wearer enjoys my jewelry as much as I enjoy making it.
