Handmade Puppet Dreams at IAC!

Wabi Sabi Warehouse will host ‘Handmade Puppet Dreams’, an exhibition of contemporary puppets curated by Heather Henson. As part of the 2010 Port City Puppet Festival, the Wabi Sabi Warehouse exhibition features a selection of cutting-edge puppets and sets featured in the Handmade Puppet Dreams film series. The film series will be screened across the street at Jengo’s Playhouse.

Showcasing a new generation of puppeteers, these short films run the gamut from marionettes to finger puppets to paper cutouts.
Recent awards include “The Best Puppet Film” at The World Puppet Festival in Prague and a 2009 “UNIMA Citation of Excellence." The series has entertained audiences in the US as well as France, Czech Republic, India, United Kingdom, Puerto Rico and Israel.
Handmade Puppet Dreams is a compilation of contemporary artisans who carefully weave their craft of film-making and puppetry into their work, building their visions, and breathing life into their dreams.
